Simple order

Work through the steps in order.

  1. Write the exact claim

    Capture the claim, time, source, and link.

    Check: The claim is not rewritten stronger than it appears.

  2. Find primary sources

    Look for official statements, direct witnesses, datasets, or original documents.

    Check: Syndicated copies are not counted as independent sources.

  3. Build a small timeline

    Record first report, later updates, corrections, and official notes.

    Check: Time zones are clear.

  4. Report status carefully

    Use confirmed, reported, disputed, or unverified.

    Check: The status matches the evidence.
