The deleted VK post: day of MH17

Case summary

In the hours after MH17 was shot down on 17 July 2014, a VKontakte account attributed to separatist commander Igor Girkin (Strelkov) published a post claiming 'we downed an AN-26'. It was deleted once it emerged that the aircraft was a passenger jet. Archived snapshots of the post later served as contextual evidence in the JIT investigation.
